BIRDIE PROGRAMME

KZNLGA launched their Birdie programme in December 2022.  The aim of the programme is to encourage girls  aged 7- 14 years to learn to play golf. This drive to get girls playing golf is made in conjunction with SA Kids Golf.  SA Kids run monthly competitions for children and caters for all abilities and age groups.

KZNLGA would be pleased to hear from any girls wishing to join our programme.

Some of our Birdie Programme members were able to attend the GolfRSA Qalisa Squad Training Camp at Serengeti during January 2024.  (Pictured above from L to R - Tamika Wolfe, Heike Venter & Shané Van Der Merwe)

Day 1 was a day filled with skills training, accuracy, distance control and bunker work.

Day 2 started off with the peltz test which helped players focus more on the shot, take their time and think about the doing. Next they played the PAR 3 course which was a lot of fun and required different types of shots. There were uphills and downhills with different types of chipping and pitching, how to stand and how to get the best shot.
